About this event

Ordinary Council Meetings are where the Mayor and councillors vote on decisions that shape Townora. Anyone can attend in person or watch the live stream with captions. Residents may speak for three minutes on any agenda item. Register by noon on the day of the meeting.

This month's meeting will consider two major items: the Hillside housing plan, which sets out where and how new homes can be built on the hillside suburbs, and the draft street tree strategy, which guides how the town plants, protects and maintains its street trees over the next decade.

Program

  • Opening and acknowledgements - 6:30 pm
  • Public question time - 6:40 pm
  • Hillside housing plan - 7:10 pm
  • Draft street tree strategy - 8:00 pm
  • Other business and close of meeting - 8:45 pm

The doors open at 6:00 pm, and the public gallery has seating for around 80 people.

How to take part

To speak on an agenda item, register through the council website or call 311 before noon on the day of the meeting. Speakers have three minutes each and may be asked a clarifying question by a councillor. If you prefer not to speak, you can submit a written comment, which is passed to every councillor before the vote.

After the meeting

The full agenda and supporting papers are published on the council website five days before the meeting. A recording of the live stream is posted within 24 hours, and the official minutes are published once confirmed at the next meeting.
