About this service

Townora collects household rubbish, recycling and garden waste from more than 19,000 properties every week. This service covers your collection day, missed bin reports, bulky waste pickups and the recycling drop-off centre on Quarry Road.

Before you start

  • Have your property address or bin number ready
  • Take a photo of any bulky items you want collected
  • Check that your bin is out by 6:00 am on collection day

What goes in each bin

Paper, cardboard, glass bottles, metal cans and rigid plastics go in the recycling bin. Food scraps and garden clippings go in the green bin. Batteries, paint, gas bottles and electronics must never go in any kerbside bin and can be taken to the drop-off centre instead.

Public holidays

Collections are not cancelled on public holidays, but they may run up to one day later. Updated dates are posted on this page and on the council website a week before each holiday.

Missed a collection?

Report it by 5:00 pm on the day and we will return within two working days. Bins that were out late or contaminated with the wrong materials may not be collected, and a tag will be left explaining why.
